India’s tops 10 cleanest cities 2020 : Indore (madhya pradesh) emerges as cleanest city; check top 10

Indore has become the inspiration for the whole country by bagging the prestigious Swachh Sarvekshan award for the fourth time in a row, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar said.

India’s cleanest cities 2020 list: Indore has emerged as the cleanest city in the country this year yet again! With this Indore has become the city to have grabbed the prestigious Swachh Survekshan award for four times in a row. The city which is also known as the main financial centre of the state of Madhya Pradesh has been consistently topping the list for the last four years. The development was announced by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs which has released the Swachh Sarvekshan survey results for 2020.

The 10 cities which emerged as the country’s best top 10 cities in the Swachh Survekshan survey undertaken this year are:

2. Surat

Surat, having its name associated with Saurashtra (the good land) is a port city in Gujarat. Surat is the second most populated city in Gujarat. Known as 'the city of flyovers', it is the pride and joy of Gujarat. Great efforts have been taken to keep the city clean by implementing sustainable development measures such as solar power and solid waste recycling and so the city has been ranked the second cleanest city in India 2020.

3. Navi Mumbai

Navi Mumbai has consecutively been declared as 3rd most cleanest cities in India. The Government initiated Swachh Survekshan of 2020 ranked Navi Mumbai as the 3rd cleanest city in India. The carefully structured city incorporated various modern techniques and mobilising the community towards a more sustainable capital thereby setting an example for the rest of the Maharastra state.

4. Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh)

Ambikapur is a smal sleepy town in the Chhattisgarh state and has suddenly now come into light as it has been as the 4th most cleanest city in India according to the Swachchh Survekshan 2020. The town has several places of attraction and sightseeing but Jogimara Caves, Shivpuri Shiv Temple and Rakasganda Falls are the most prominent ones amongst them. 

5. Mysore (Karnataka)

Mysore is the third most populated city in Karnataka, and its rich heritage draws millions of tourists all year round. It is replete with the history of its dazzling royal heritage, intricate architecture, its famed silk sarees, yoga, and sandalwood, to name just a few. It has now, also been voted as one of the top 10 cleanest cities in India 2020 which is yet another feather on its cap.

6. Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh)

With scrumptious fruits, sensational sweets and scenic marvels, Vijayawada literally translates to 'The Place of Victory'. Vijayawada is the third largest city in Andhra Pradesh and was voted as the 6th cleanest city in India by the government initiated Swachh Bharat survey. Located on the banks of the beautiful Krishna River, Vijayawada is bounded by the lndrakeeladri Hills on the west and the Budameru river on the north.

7. Ahmedabad (Gujarat)
